Portuguese Startup Litehaus Announces First Native AI Agent for Construction Sector

The technology startup Litehaus, based in Portugal, has officially announced the creation of the first native artificial intelligence agent developed specifically for the residential construction industry. The company's objective is to build more sustainable homes with controlled costs, leveraging technologies such as 3D printing. The new platform aims to fundamentally simplify the process of building a house by improving communication between key parties like constructors, architects, financial institutions, and landowners.

The system features an integrated intelligent agent that automates and streamlines the various stages of a construction project, providing assistance to users from the initial planning phase through to execution. According to a statement from Litehaus, the technology is developed on next-generation language models, incorporating both third-party technologies and internally developed functionalities. These tools have been specifically adapted to address the complexities of architecture and construction, with the goal of enabling faster and more informed decision-making.

This development follows the company's practical application of its technology in building the first 3D-printed house in Portugal, located in Portela da Vila, Torres Vedras. For that project, Litehaus utilized artificial intelligence in the initial design and creative phases, while 3D printing was employed for the walls, allowing the production of up to 45 square meters of walls in approximately 20 hours. The company states this method can be up to 70% faster and 20% cheaper than traditional construction.

The new AI agent is being launched to complement a recently released online quoting tool, “Get a Quote in 2 Minutes,” which allows potential clients to quickly estimate the cost of a new home. Litehaus reported that in its first few weeks, the tool generated 640 quotes, representing a potential project pipeline of over 125 million euros. Starting in October, the company plans to launch a unified web platform combining its services. This will enable users to find builders, apply for financing, manage permits with local authorities, and identify suitable land for construction.

Thibault Launay, co-founder of Litehaus, stated that the company is “completely reinventing the way houses are built in Portugal.” He added, “We are using technology and Artificial Intelligence to make building a house as simple as its purchase.” Litehaus currently operates in Portugal, Spain, Estonia, the United States, and the United Arab Emirates, with a strategic focus on the Iberian market. The company has established a partnership with ComparaJá to connect with 10 major Portuguese banks to facilitate project financing and is collaborating with 100 architects to refine the platform.

To support its growth, Litehaus recently secured €1.46 million in an investment round with participation from the Portuguese fund Explorer Investments and the UK-based Cornerstone VC. The capital is intended to accelerate technological development and expand its network of partner factories to meet growing demand. The company has previously stated a goal of building 100 houses per year in Portugal using its technology. Monitor new development opportunities at realestate-lisbon.com.
