IMGA and BTG Pactual Launch New Golden Visa-Eligible Corporate Bond Fund
The asset manager IM Gestão de Ativos (IMGA), in partnership with BTG Pactual Asset Management and BTG Pactual Europe, has announced the launch of a new investment fund, the BTG Pactual GV Corporate Bonds 60/40. The fund is structured and marketed in Portugal and is designed to be eligible for the country's Autorização de Residência para Investimento (ARI), or Golden Visa, program.
According to the official announcement, the new fund aims to offer investors diversified exposure to the European and Latin American corporate credit markets. The investment strategy is described as conservative, prioritizing capital preservation. Millennium BCP will serve as the fund's depository bank, with distribution handled by IMGA and supported by BTG Pactual's platforms.
The fund's portfolio allocation is set at 60% in securities from Portuguese issuers and up to 40% from Latin American issuers, with all assets required to hold an Investment Grade rating. The management strategy emphasizes low duration and includes full currency hedging to the euro for up to 40% of the fund's exposure to assets denominated in other currencies, a feature intended to provide greater predictability of returns.
The Golden Visa program, established in 2012, allows non-EU investors to obtain a Portuguese residence permit, which can be extended to family members and offers benefits such as free travel within the Schengen Area and a path to citizenship after five years. This new fund provides an alternative route for qualification following recent changes to the program's requirements.
Investment conditions for the BTG Pactual GV Corporate Bonds 60/40 fund include a minimum subscription of €100,000 for its capitalization class and €150,000 for its distribution class. The fund offers daily subscriptions and redemptions with a D+6 liquidity timeline. The annual management fee is 1.40%. The management company recommends a minimum investment holding period of at least five years, in line with the Golden Visa program's requirements.
