STIHL Inaugurates €10 Million Facility in Sintra, Portugal

The German company STIHL, a global leader in power tools, has opened its new Portuguese headquarters in Sintra following a 10-million-euro investment. The inauguration ceremony for the new facilities took place on Monday, marking a significant expansion of the company's presence in the national market.

The project consists of a new 2,300-square-meter building situated on a 17,200-square-meter plot of land. According to a company announcement, this new hub represents a 'milestone for STIHL's operation in Portugal'. The building houses one of the brand's largest training centers in Europe, designed to train over 500 professionals annually.

The facility also features the largest STIHL showroom in Europe, with 280 square meters of exhibition space. This showroom is reportedly only the second 'model showroom' for the company globally, displaying over 200 machines and 600 different accessories. Future plans for the site include the development of an outdoor training center and hosting community events.

Juvenal Martins, General Director of STIHL Portugal, described the new headquarters as a 'turning point' for the company's history in the country. 'It is with enormous pride that we now have a reference training center in Europe and a unique model showroom, which allow us to be even closer to our customers and partners,' he said. Martins added that the infrastructure provides the conditions for 'sustained growth'.

The investment is seen as a vote of confidence in the Portuguese market from the German family-owned company, which has an annual turnover of over five billion euros. Martins noted that Portugal is 'one of the fastest-growing subsidiaries in Europe'.

He stated, 'We are strengthening our presence, creating conditions to further support national professionals, and clearly making a long-term commitment: to invest in innovation, training, and service. We are certain that Portugal will continue to be an important pillar in the future of STIHL.' The new facility is expected to reinforce the company's market leadership and support its network of professional clients across the country.
